Archery Activities

Whether you're trying archery for the first time or looking to test your aim, we offer a range of archery experiences suitable for different ages and abilities. All activities are led by qualified instructors who will provide guidance, equipment and safety briefings before your session.

Available Activities

Field Archery

Learn the fundamentals of archery before putting your skills to the test on a woodland course. Navigate through the forest, spotting targets and practising your accuracy in a fun and immersive outdoor experience.

Target Archery

Perfect for beginners and experienced archers alike, Target Archery focuses on accuracy, skill and friendly competition as you aim for the bullseye and challenge family and friends.

  • Minimum age: 10 years
  • Location: Outdoor Activity Centre

Robin Hood and Little Johns

A family-friendly introduction to archery designed for one adult and one child. Learn the basics together before taking on a series of fun target challenges.

  • Available at: All villages
  • Duration: 45 minutes
  • Adult requirement: One participating adult (18+) per child
  • Child age: 6–9 years
  • Participants: Activity is designed for one adult and one child

Crossbows

Experience the challenge of shooting a crossbow under the guidance of our instructors. Learn safe loading techniques and develop your accuracy while aiming at a variety of targets.

  • Available at: All villages except Longford Forest
  • Duration: 45 minutes
  • Minimum age: 12 years

Archery Adventure

A fun, family-friendly archery experience where you'll learn the basics before taking on themed targets and friendly challenges.

  • Available at: Whinfell Forest and Woburn Forest
  • Duration: 45 minutes
  • Minimum age: 6 years
  • Children under 8: Must be accompanied by a participating adult
  • Location: Outdoor Activity Centre

Archery – Little Outlaws

Introduce your little one to the basics of archery in this fun, instructor-led session. Using child-friendly bows and arrows, they'll learn how to hold, aim and shoot at specially designed themed targets in a safe and supportive environment. This activity is available at all villages.

Mini Crossbows

Introduce your little one to the basics of crossbow shooting in this fun, instructor-led session. Using child-friendly mini crossbows, they'll learn how to hold, aim and shoot safely while developing their accuracy and coordination. This activity is available at all villages.

  • Location: Sports Plaza
  • Supervision: One adult may accompany each participating child. Additional spaces may be available on the day – please speak to a member of staff before your session.

Can I bring my own archery equipment?

No. Guests are not permitted to use their own bows, arrows or other archery equipment. All equipment is supplied by us and is regularly inspected, safety checked and approved for guest use.


Health & Safety

To ensure everyone's safety, the following requirements apply to all archery activities:

  • All participants must attend the instructor-led safety briefing before the session begins.
  • Any personal protective equipment (PPE) provided must be worn for the duration of the activity.
  • Sensible, closed-toe sports shoes must be worn. Open toe shoes, Crocs, Espadrilles or open back shoes are not permitted
  • All facial piercings and large ear piercings must be removed before taking part.
  • Participants must follow all instructions given by the activity instructors at all times.
  • Spectators are not permitted at Field Archery due to the nature of the activity.
  • Activities may be adapted or cancelled if conditions are considered unsafe.
  • For safety reasons, participants who do not follow instructor guidance may be unable to continue with the activity.
